Tapline

Comparison · honest version

A Carrd alternative
for the link list specifically.

Carrd is a one-page website builder, and a well-loved one. Tapline is not trying to be that — it is the narrow tool for the specific job of the link in your bio.

We do not quote other companies’ prices or feature lists here — those change, and being out of date about a competitor would be worse than saying nothing. Check Carrd directly for what it costs and what it currently includes.

Sample Tapline page: Fade House. Fades, beards, hot towel. Walk-ins when the chair is free. Blocks in order: Book an appointment (featured), Price list, Call the shop, Find us, Recent cuts.

A real Tapline page, rendered by the same code that serves published pages.

Credit where it is due

What Carrd is genuinely good at.

Carrd is aimed at one-page sites rather than link lists, and within that scope it is excellent.

Real layout control

Sections, columns, images, text, forms — Carrd gives you a canvas. If your page needs a paragraph of copy and a hero image rather than a stack of buttons, that freedom matters.

One-page sites are a genuinely useful format

A landing page for a product, an event, a portfolio, a CV. Carrd covers a much wider range of jobs than a link list ever could.

A long-standing indie tool with a devoted following

Carrd has been around a while and people who use it tend to keep using it. That is usually a sign of a product that respects its users.

Stay with Carrd if…

  • You need paragraphs, images and sections rather than a list of destinations.
  • You are building a landing page for one thing, not a junction to many.
  • You want to design the page yourself rather than pick a theme.

If one of those describes you, we would rather you did not pay us. A page nobody needs is not a win for either of us.

The difference

What Tapline does differently.

Every line below is a fact about Tapline, checkable on this site today.

Moving over from Carrd

These two are not really rivals — plenty of people should have both, a Carrd site for the thing they are selling and a Tapline page as the junction in their bio. If your Carrd page is a stack of buttons and nothing else, though, Tapline does that in a fraction of the effort and counts the taps for you.

Think we have described Carrd unfairly? Tell us at hello@linkinbio.nanocorp.app and we will fix the wording. We would rather be accurate than flattering to ourselves.

Try it before
you switch anything.

Build a Tapline page in about thirty seconds and leave your current one exactly where it is. If you prefer ours, change the link in your bio. If not, nothing was lost.
